Who Am I / What I Do

For more than 25 years, I’ve been working with non-profits and churches to increase and celebrate generosity.
I’ve worked with organizations and congregations to
raise millions of dollars through grant writing,
direct appeal letters, and stewardship campaigns.
I’m proud to be a Senior Ministry Strategist with Horizons Stewardship.
My Inspiring Generosity blog helps
clergy and lay people learn about fundraising and
how to overcome their fear of asking for money.
And... I love thanking donors.
I’ve been featured…
on the Lewis Center for Church Leadership’s “Leading Ideas” Podcast and the Generosity Lab Podcast. I’ve done webinars for United Methodist Discipleship Ministries and Practical Resources for Churches.
My blog posts have been reprinted in:
•The Grow Report•
•Giving Magazine•
•Lewis Center for Church Leadership•
•Luther Seminary Center for Stewardship Leaders• •The United Methodist Foundation of New England• Clairification
And…I hold an Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising from the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving through Indiana University’s
Lilly School of Philanthropy.
Life Before Development
I directed the Volunteer and Public Service Center at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. At Willamette University in Salem, OR, I was the Director of Student Activities and taught in the World Views program. I have an MA from the University of Maryland, College Park in Higher Education - Counseling and Personnel Services and a BA in English from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.
Life Outside of Work
I watch way too many home improvement shows and binge Netflix. I like movies, traveling, podcasts, and trying to get in those dang 10,000 steps in every day. I have a great spouse, two fun adult children, a big dog, and Sparky, a rescued conure parrot (which is a story in and of itself).
