The Main Event is Here
The Main Event is Here
It’s here. The Main Event of the Christian year.
Or, as Rev. Clay Andrew posted this morning:
“It’s just not Holy Week until you see the Copier Repair Man.”
With that in mind, you have more than enough on your plate so this will be short and sweet.
Keep your eye on that story.
On Easter Sunday, people will be there for the hoopla, no doubt.
Beautiful flowers.
Amazing music.
Kids dressed in their finest.
But at the heart of it, people are coming for that story.
You know the one. John 20:1-18. I get choked up even now after so many years of hearing and seeing it in print.
That resurrection story has it all.
Grief.
Mystery.
Revelation.
Triumph.
Hope.
“I have seen the Lord.”
The next few days – Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, everything leading up to Easter Sunday – will be a whirlwind of activity. It will be exhausting.
But keep your eye on that story.
Because, in the immortal words of that ancient movie, it is indeed “The Greatest Story Ever Told.” And people are coming to hear it.
May God bless you as you share the resurrection story afresh to a people who desperately need its good news.
